Children's Resale shops in and around Milwaukee

Someone asked me about my knowledge of the Milwaukee children's resale shops. I thought I would post it on here and share it with you. This is just my opinion from my experiences at the stores mentioned.

Children’s Orchard (Hwy 100 & National) 11110 W. National Ave West Allis (414) 321-1146 All items are in excellent condition. Great clothing selection. Very friendly staff. Not a lot of big stuff. Sign up for MOMS Club (e-mail) to get $5 coupon. They have a punch card.

Playroom Closet (93rd and Greenfield) 9306 W Greenfield Ave (414) 727-9065 Tons of stuff. Lots of big items. Clothing selection is small.

For Mom and Me (70th and Greenfield) 7046 W. Greenfield ave 414 443-0339 Lots and lots and lots of stuffed crammed into a small space. Prices are a bit high and quality is sometimes skechy. Not everyone likes the man that runs it. If you are nice and friendly to him he will be nice to you. They carry maternity clothes.
New to You Kids (North of Southridge Mall) 5020 S. 74th St 414-325-7512 and 3835 N. 124th St Brookfield (Capitol and 124th) 262-783-4778 Ok selection, quality is sometimes sketchy. Employees are not nice or helpful in my opinion and experience at either location. Coupon on website. They have a punch card.

Once Upon A Child (124th and North) 2405 N 124th St, Brookfield (262) 782-5437 Lots of clothes but too many on the racks, makes it really hard to look at them. I find lots of good shoes here for some reason. They have a punch card.

Tuesday's Child (Wauwautosa) 7471 Harwood Ave, Wauwatosa (414) 226-5250 Very small selection. Nice expensive boutique brands but high prices

Heavenly Kidzz (Bay View) 2675 S. Kinnickinnic Ave 414-294-4040 This is under new ownership so I don't really know how it is going so far. They do carry maternity clothes and cloth diapers.

Cutest Kids Consignment (Oak Creek) 8509A South Howell Avenue, Oak Creek 414-459-3328  I have never been there. They are only open Wed-Sat

Did I miss any? What are your thoughts about these stores?

  2. I wanted to make you aware that I am the Aunt and yes the shop is now open!!! They Grow Like Weeds opened on 9/1/11 at 5676 Broad Street in Greendale. I carry a wide range of items for newborns to tweens; including clothing, baby gear, books, shoes/boots, toys, nursery decor and bedding, etc.

If you have any questions regarding buying or selling, please feel free to call me at (414)239-0600 or email at theygrowlikeweeds@gmail.com

  5. I can't resist kids resale is already closed, only lasted a month. New to you kids is BY FAR my favorite, they have TONS of clothes at awesome prices. Heavenly kidzz has lots of big stuff, strollers, bouncers, toys, not so many clothes though. Playroom closet is also clothes now. For Mom and me moved to Howell and Howard in Bayview, not worth the trip though they are WAY to expensive.

    1. New to you kids are selective with their customer service, heavenly kidzz has an awesome selection of cloth diapers which are new and not used, and for mom and me's prices are some of the best resale prices I've seen. Under new ownership too.
Clearly everyone's opinion will differ, ones opinion is typically based on preference. I and my Co-workers who are reading this blog highly disagree with this post.

    2. I wasn't being offensive, have you been to other resale shops? At Mom and Me they want 16 bucks for a pair of name brand jeans that you can get at Burlington coat factory brand new for 10. New to you kids and Heavenly kidzz have jeans that you can buy for 5 bucks which is a way better deal than 16. But there's another resale shop on 13th street a little off of Oklahoma, which is why I came on here.

    3. We didn't think you we're being offensive, we just didn't agree with some of the comments, which is why I said one's opinion is based on preference.. We shop at all of the resale stores, and for mom and me is under new ownership, so the prices are NOT high at all and they have everything you can think of and the prices really are unbeatable...and like I said the selection of cloth diapers at heavenly kidzz is awesome, as I myself do use cloth diapers and that's where I go for them. And new to you kids is okay, I personally have not been mistreated but have been there while other customers have been spoken to so rudely, I still do shop there sometimes though. Opinion is preference, we respect yours, but just happen to disagree with it. The statement about $16 for a pair of pants is just plain not true, and untrue statements effect small businesses, which just isn't right. But we in no way thought you we're being offensive, we simply disagree, but respect your opinion as well :-) I will always shop resale, that's just how I am, I shop at all of them as well and each one will have a great deal, but I do have my favorites also.
